Hawai'i joins EPA energy partnership

The state of Hawai'i will join 14 other states to work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on a range of energy-related initiatives, including clean energy, energy efficiency, renewables and air quality improvement.Under the EPA's Clean Energy-Environment State Partnership, the agency provides technical assistance states in developing a Clean Energy-Environment State Action Plan, and in implementing it. The plans are designed to contain one or more clean energy goals.
"This partnership will strengthen the state's position as we undertake new programs promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy sources," said Maurice Kaya, director of the state's Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
