Annual dance concert sets heart/land theme

"Dances From the Heart/Land" is the theme of the University of Hawai'i' Manoa's Annual Dance Concert, 8 p.m March 2 at Kennedy Theatre.
The concert repeats at 8 p.m. March 3, 9, and 10 and at 2 p.m. March 11. Pre-show events are slated at 7 p.m. before the March 3 and 10 performances.
Kudu hula Vicky Holy Takamine opens the concert with a hula kahiko, with live chanting and a tribute to the volcano goddess Pele, performed by 20 dancers.
Tickets are $16 ($14 seniors, military and UH staff, $11 students and $5 UH students). Reservations: 956-7655.
