Bishop Museum science day set for March 31

Advertiser Staff

Bishop Museum's third annual Mad About Science Day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 31 on the Great Lawn and throughout the museum campus, offers scores of activities for youths and their parents.

The event is an opportunity to experience the science museum through behind-the-scenes tours of the natural science collections to telescoping on the lawn for daytime scoping (from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) to moon watching at night (from 6:30 to 9 p.m.).

A lecture by global warming biodiesel expert Kyle Datta, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., in the Watumull Planetarium, should be on interest.

For youngsters, numerous hands-on activities will be staged through the museum's Holoholo science outreach program.

Admission is $3, with museum members and children 3 and under admitted free.
