Calif. surfwear firm pays $4.2M for North Shore home

Advertiser Staff

Volcom Inc., a Costa Mesa, Calif., surfwear and clothing company, said it purchased a house on the beach in front of the Pipeline surfing break on O'ahu's North Shore.

The company paid $4.2 million for the house, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Volcom said the beach house will be used by its surf team riders during the winter surf season and for marketing functions.

"Steeped in history, this house is a surfing landmark," said Richard Woolcott, Volcom's president and chief executive officer, in a news release.

"This is an unbelievable opportunity for our marketing program and it is an honor to have Volcom associated with it."
