'Girls who Surf' lessons available for boys or girls

Advertiser Staff

Want to improve your surfing technique?

Then attend a monthly "Girls Who Surf" lesson and get coaching and tips from female instructors.

However, don't be fooled by the name. The lessons are open to boys and girls.

Instructions will be available for first-time beginners to those who need help with their bottom turns and cutbacks.

The next event will be held March 4 from 3 to 5 p.m., with discounted kama'aina group lessons available.

Interested persons should call for directions because sites change depending on the surf. But in East O'ahu, lessons are usually held at Kaisers (by Ilikai Hotel), Pops (by Halekulani hotel) and Tonggs (in Waikiki).

The cost is $50 each. For information, call 371-8917, or go to www.GirlsWhoSurf.com.
