Church stages drama about Christianity in the Isles

Advertiser Staff

Waiokeola Congregational Church's drama ministry group will this weekend present "Remembering Henry Obookiah," an original drama about of how Christianity came to the Hawaiian Islands.

The drama, written by Timothy Lee Adams — a local playwright and member of the congregation — will be presented at Sunday's 9 a.m. service at The United Church of Christ, 4705 Kilauea Ave. On Shrove Tuesday, the church will celebrate Mardi Gras with a 6 p.m. pancake supper followed by Frivolous Follies entertainment at 7 p.m.
