A 69-year-old woman was slightly injured late this morning when she stepped into the path of a turning car at South and Queen streets.

A late-model Mercedes turning right from South Street onto Queen Street reportedly struck the woman's left thigh as she stepped from the South Street curb into the intersection. The driver told police that he did not see the pedestrian entering the intersection.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services Department officials and firefighters responded to the scene, but the woman, a downtown resident, declined treatment.

No tickets were issued, police said.
