Association ranks Hawai'i 12th for food-related travel

Hawai'i is among the top 15 destinations in the country for food-related travel, according to a report released today by the Travel Industry Association, Gourmet and International Culinary Tourism Association.Hawai'i ranked 12th, following states such as California, Florida and New York.
The national survey found that 27 million travelers, or 17 percent of American leisure travelers, engaged in culinary or wine-related activities during their trips within the past three years. Such culinary travelers are typically younger, more affluent and better educated than other tourists, the study reported.
