Hawaii women's basketball coach Jim Bolla was released from the hospital following a medical procedure, the university said today.

Bolla went on leave a day before the undisclosed procedure at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu on Feb. 5. Associate head coach Pat Charity has been serving as interim head coach.

"The surgeons did a fantastic job and I'm feeling better and stronger every day," Bolla said in a statement. "I'm thrilled by the success of the team and I'll be rooting for them while I continue to recuperate. I don't have a definitive timeframe for my return, but I'm hopeful it will be very soon."

The Rainbow Wahine (11-12, 5-6 Western Athletic Conference) are 2-0 without Bolla, beating New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech on the road.

Bolla is 38-37 in his third season at Hawaii.
