Advertiser Staff
Police this morning have recovered the body of a woman near the Makapu'u Lookout area. The identity of the body that was recovered will not be released officially until the city Department of the Medical Examiner makes a determination, police said.
The body that was recovered appears to match the description of a 22-year-old woman who had been the object of a search that began last night, police said.
The search for Danielle Dematta, a Hawai'i Kai resident, began yesterday after she failed to show up at the school where she is employed as a teacher and her second job, and her vehicle was found at the lookout area.
A search party went out last night, and rescuers and others resumed the search this morning.
