Lihu'e resident Said Ghezal is among more than 40 finalists competing to win an Ace Hardware store valued at $1 million, the retailer said in a news release.

Ghezal and contestants from more than 40 other states are being invited to participate in the next rounds of the Dream Ace Contest that will be held in New York later this week. He was selected from among 5,400 people who entered the contest and has made it through a selection process that includes an online entrepreneurial-suitability test and three essay questions, Oak Brook, Ill.-based Ace Hardware said.
