LPGA, huge surf make North Shore place to be today

Advertiser Staff

The North Shore has much to offer today, with surf expected to be in the 30-foot range and the top women golfers in the world coming to Turtle Bay for the opening round of the SBS Open.

It may be the perfect day to head out to the country, get some shave ice and see some of the most powerful surf in the world and some of the best golf around.

Of the top 25 LPGA money winners from 2007, only Annika Sorenstam isn't competing.

Also competing is the women's version of Moanalua's Tadd Fujikawa. That would be Hilo's 15-year-old sensation Kimberly Kim, the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur champion.

Tee times start at 7:10 a.m.
