Police yesterday recovered the body of a woman near the Makapu'u Lookout area.

The city medical examiner's office identified the body as that of Danielle Dematta, a 22-year-old Hawai'i Kai resident who was last seen Tuesday.

The search for Dematta began Tuesday night after she failed to show up at the school where she is employed as a teacher, and at her second job. Her 1990 four-door Volvo sedan was found at the lookout area.

Police said Dematta suffered from depression. She was last seen leaving her house about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A search party went out Tuesday night, and rescuers and others resumed the search yesterday morning.
