3 teen boys arrested in tie to fake money

Three Kapolei High School students were arrested yesterday after they allegedly forged $20 bills.

On Tuesday one of the students — all boys — was caught trying to use a counterfeit $20 bill at school. School officials called police and the boy was arrested.

He told officers that he and two other boys printed a small batch of counterfeit $20 bills using a computer program.

All three were arrested on suspicion of first-degree forgery.

Man turns himself in after fleeing from DLNR officer

A 21-year-old man who allegedly assaulted an enforcement officer with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources turned himself into police yesterday.

In response to an outstanding warrant, a DLNR officer on Feb. 10 placed the man in handcuffs. The man complained that they were too tight, and when the DLNR officer moved to loosen the handcuffs the man ran away. The DLNR officer tackled the man, who then kicked the officer in the face and escaped.

Yesterday the man turned himself into police at the Wahiawa substation and was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a law enforcement officer, breaking into a car, theft and escape.

Man arrested in connection to sexual assault report

A man in his late 20s was arrested yesterday in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 25-year-old Pearl City woman.

The woman told police yesterday that the man kidnapped and sexually assaulted her at 3:30 a.m. yesterday.

The man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and kidnapping.
