Kimberly Kim shoots 79, expected to miss SBS cut

Big Island native Kimberly Kim, 15, shot a 7-over 79 today and is expected to miss the cut in the LPGA's SBS Open at Turtle Bay.

Kim, who resides in Arizona, had two birdies, three bogeys and three double bogeys in a 40-39 round.

She double-bogeyed the par-4 sixth and 17th and the par-3 13th. She birdied the par-4 14th and par-3 15th.

She shot a 1-over 73 yesterday and is at 8-over 152 in the three-day tournament.

The projected cut is 2-over, though most of the golfers have yet to complete their rounds.

Last year at 14, Kim became the youngest Women's Amateur champion in the 106-year history of the USGA event.
