Punahou edges Kalani for state boys soccer title, 3-2

Ben Strand scored in the 80th minute to lift Punahou to a 3-2 victory over Kalani at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium tonight for its second consecutive state high school boys soccer championship.

Alessi Sia (33rd minute) and Deryck Lim (66th) also scored for Punahou (15-1-1). Carter Kam (14th) and Danny Higa (55th) scored for the Falcons (12-5-1).

It was the 16th state boys soccer title for coach Bob Clague and Punahou since the state tournament began in 1974.
