Winter weather advisory posted for Big Isle summits
Advertiser Staff
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island.
Passing showers are expected to create ice problems atop the two summits until later this morning.
Temperatures are below freezing, and rain that does fall will likely freeze on contact, forecasters said.
Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by midday today, which will allow the ice to melt.
