Surf on the way down on most shorelines

Advertiser Staff

Surf along the north and west shores of O'ahu is down substantially from earlier this week.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for wave faces today of 10 to 14 feet along north-facing shores, 6 to 10 feet along west shores, 3 feet or less on the south shores, and 4 to 7 feet along the east shores.

The current northwest swell will decline through Monday and be replaced by a smaller swell out of the northwest. The new swell is expected to peak on Tuesday, then slowly lower through Thursday, forecasters said.

Strong trade winds will produce rough surf along east-facing shores from tomorrow through Thursday.

An out-of-season south swell is expected to arrive Monday night, peak Tuesday night, then slowly lower through Thursday.
