Leeward CC chancellor accepts Manoa position

Advertiser Staff

Leeward Community College Chancellor Peter Quigley has accepted a position with the University of Hawai'i-Manoa as assistant vice chancellor for academic personnel. He will begin his new job as soon as an interim chancellor for the Leeward campus has been appointed.

Quigley has been with Leeward Community College since 2004, first serving as dean of instruction, then vice chancellor and chief academic officer, and later rising to chancellor in May 2006.

He came to Hawai'i from Minnesota State University, where he was dean of the College of Arts and Humanities.

In making his decision, Quigley noted that he felt it was time for a change after re-evaluating his future. He sees this move as an opportunity to serve the greater population of Hawai'i and to support the university in a different capacity.

"I feel gratified knowing that I leave Leeward CC in a very solid position," he said.
