Boy, 12, hit by car in Kahala

A 12-year-old seventh-grader was thrown 20 feet after being hit by a red convertible at 12:29 p.m. yesterday at 4533 Kahala Ave., according to city Emergency Medical Services.

The boy was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

Also, police reported that a bicycle and a motorist collided shortly before 11 a.m. yesterday at the intersection of 8th and Wai'alae avenues in Kaimuki.

Police said although the cyclist went down in the street, he was not badly injured.
