High-surf advisory for eastern shores until 6 p.m.

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today for the eastern shores of O'ahu, Kaua'i, Maui, Hawai'i and Moloka'i, the National Weather Service said.

Strong trade winds are producing the high surf, which is 6 feet to 9 feet and, unfortunately for surfers, rough.

Surf along northern shores will be 3 feet to 5 feet, while western shores will see surf 2 feet to 4 feet and southern shores will see surf 3 feet or less.
