Robinson's arm, bat propel UH softball team to victory

Advertiser Staff

Kate Robinson pitched a one-hitter, hit two home runs and drove in six runs in a 16-0 rout of Southern Utah today in the final day of the Louisville-Slugger Desert Classic in Las Vegas.

The Rainbow Wahine (10-2) went 5-1, finishing third in this 24-team tournament. They play a doubleheader against Loyola Marymount tomorrow in Los Angeles.

Robinson (2-0) did not allow the first nine batters to reach base. The only hit she allowed was a lead-off single in the fifth, the final inning in a game abbreviated because of the mercy rule.

This was Robinson's second two-homer game of the tournament. In addition to her two two-run homers, she hit a two-run double.
