Advertiser Staff

Boyd Gaming Corp., a gaming company whose operations include downtown Las Vegas hotels popular with Hawai'i residents, said income from continuing operations rose to $55.6 million, or 63 cents a share, in 2006's last three months. It compared to a profit of $25.8 million, or 28 cents per share, in the similar period a year earlier.

The company revenue from its Vacations Hawaii and other travel agency operations totaled $13.1 million, a decline from revenue of $14 million in the 2005 fourth quarter. Boyd said its downtown Las Vegas properties had revenue of $69.1 million, or nearly equal to the strong performance a year earlier.

Boyd owns 16 gaming properties in Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana and Louisiana. It also is developing Echelon Place on the Las Vegas Strip.
