Latin group Tiempo Libre to perform at LCC March 3

Tickets are going fast for Tiempo Libre, a Latin act known for its complicated Cuban timba musical rhythms. The group performs at 8 p.m. March 3 at the Leeward Community College Theatre.Tiempo Libra, a two-time Latin Grammy nominee, captures Latin rhythms with a mixt of jazz, suitable for Latin dancing. The concert will include space for dancers.
Timba often is called Cuban salsa, but differs in orchestrations and arrangements devoid of salsa roots. Some timba musicians owe the sounds to U.S. funk bands instead.
Tickets are $27 adults, $23 students, seniors and military.
