Iolani blows by Baldwin in state DI hoops tournament

Case Miyahira poured in 18 points to lead five-time defending state champion 'Iolani, playing in a rare first-round game, past Baldwin, 70-45, tonight in a Hawaiian Airlines/Hawaii High School Athletic Association boys state tournament game at Radford.

Ryan Dung chipped in 12 for 'Iolani, which outscored Baldwin 15-5 in the second quarter for a 40-22 halftime lead.

Baldwin's John Salmo scored 18 points.

'Iolani will play. Kamehameha-Hawaii at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Radford gym. That game will be followed by Oahu Interscholastic Association champion and state runner-up Kaimuki against. Saint Louis at 8 p.m.
