ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Watch Jimmy go go go

Advertiser Staff and News Services

A different club every night. The autobahn. Import beers suddenly turned domestic. Wanna know what Hawai'i's favorite rootsy ska, rock-steady, reggae, soul and funk band are up to on Ska Brawl 2007 — their first-ever European tour? Check out the band's road trippin' stories at Go Jimmy Go's Euro tour blog. Last we read, sax player Eric White had discovered that discussions on beer defy language barriers, German bartenders allow you to mix your own drinks, and that one can actually drink a "U Boat." Open up a cold one and enjoy! Go to http://blogs.honoluluadvertiser.com.

DISCUSSING HOMELESSNESS

Housing is Hawai'i's burning issue, and KIPO 89.3 FM will take part in National Public Radio's annual Homelessness Marathon from 2 to 8 p.m. today. The station will broadcast programming to raise awareness about the problems the homeless face in America. From 5 to 7 p.m. The Advertiser's Will Hoover and Rob Perez, who wrote last year's five-part series on homelessness on the Wai'anae Coast, will join local host Beth-Ann Koz-lovich in discussing the topic with guests.
