Gun, drug charges filed against moped-theft suspect

A 29-year-old man is being held in lieu of $25,000 at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center on firearm and drug charges.Roman Alan Buendia, no permanent local address, was arrested Monday at 12:47 a.m. after a traffic stop on suspicion of speeding on a moped at the intersection of Coral Sea and Independence roads.
Police said Buendia was in possession of a .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol, more than one-eighth ounce of crystal methampetamine and operating a stolen moped.
Buendia was charged Tuesday and will be arraigned within 14 days at Circuit Court.
