Hawai'i cement shipments up 8.2% in Dec. vs. year ago

Hawai'i's shipments of finished portland cement, a critical component of concrete used in the construction industry, rose 8.2 percent in December compared to the same month the year before, according to Bloomberg News.There were 37,649 metric tons shipped during the month, Bloomberg reported, citing U.S. Geological Survey numbers.
