Police closed off a section of Beretania Street for several hours, between Victoria and Ke'eaumoku streets, after a woman pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at about 9:45 a.m.

The injured woman, whom police said was in her 60s, was taken to The Queen's Medical Center and was last reported to be in critical condition.

She was struck in a marked crosswalk by a driver making a left turn from Pi'ikoi Street onto Beretania, police said.

The driver, a 63-year-old Honolulu woman, was uninjured, police said. Drugs, alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors, police said.

Beretania was reopened shortly after 1 p.m., police said.
