High-surf advisory in place for O'ahu's east shores

A high-surf advisory remains in effect along all east-facing shores on O'ahu, where the surf is expected to be 6 feet to 8 feet through this morning, decreasing to 4 feet to 6 feet this afternoon.Elsewhere, the surf today is expected to reach 1 foot to 3 feet along north-facing shores, 2 feet to 4 feet along western shores and 2 feet to 4 feet along south-facing shores.
The short-period, large surf along east-facing shores is expected to drop below the 8-foot advisory level by this afternoon. A small northwest swell is due in this weekend.
