Advertiser Staff

Jonathan Lee made a layup with 50 seconds left to lift McKinley past Farrington, 33-29, and into the title game of the Hawaiian Airlines Boys Basketball Division II State Championships tonight at Kaimuki High School gym.

The Tigers (12-6) will meet Kohala (15-3) in the 6 p.m. game at Stan Sheriff Center and will be televised statewide on OC-16.

Kohala defeated 'Aiea, 76-72, in the other semifinal at Farrington High School gym.

Kohala's Earvin Sione made the back end of two free throws with six seconds left to make it a four-point, two-possession game.

Lee finished with a game-high 13 points, nine coming in the fourth quarter.

"We did just enough to win," said Tigers' head coach Bob Morikuni. "I'm proud of them."
