WAI'ANAE
Build home with 'sweat equity'

Advertiser Staff

For those on the Wai'anae Coast who are ready to accept the responsibility of home-ownership but can't qualify for a traditional mortgage, Habitat for Humanity Leeward Oahu offers hope.

The nonprofit home-building organization is looking for residents with a steady income, but who earn 50 percent or less of the median area income, to attend its next application orientation meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Waianae United Methodist Church, 85-671 Farrington Highway.

Applicants must have the land on which to build and be willing to complete 500 hours of "sweat equity."

To register for the meeting, call 696-7882.
