WAIMANALO
Native culture academy slated

Advertiser Staff

Kamehameha Schools will accept applications until Feb. 28 for its Hawaiian Cultural Academy this summer in Waimanalo.

The program, which runs June 18 through July 18, is open to non-Kamehameha students in grades 6 to 8.

It will feature a variety of activities in song, hula, 'ukulele, drum-making, feather work, fishing and lauhala weaving.

Preference will be given to students of the Waimanalo area, and financial aid is available for those who can't afford the $160 tuition.

Students will showcase their work in a finale for their parents.
