Small fire at Lincoln Elementary prompts investigation

Students at Lincoln Elementary were evacuated as a precaution this morning after a fire broke out in a storage building. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and students were allowed back into the classrooms.

Fire investigators are looking into circumstances surrounding a small fire at Lincoln Elementary School this morning, which was contained to a storage building.

The fire started about 9:11 a.m. and was extinguished by 9:20 a.m.

Fire Capt. Kenison Tejada, a department spokesman, said the fire did not spread to other buildings. Students were evacuated as a precaution, and were allowed back in their classrooms after the fire was put out.

No injuries were reported.
