Swamp Romp expects record field for obstacle race

Advertiser Staff

Tomorrow's CSSG-3 Swamp Romp at Kane'ohe Marine Corps Base will likely break last year's record of 260 teams, race organizers said.

The 13th annual event will start at 7 a.m. on the base.

There are still a few openings left for teams.

Cost is $138 for a six-person team.

Referred to as Hawai'i's dirtiest footrace, the Swamp Romp course begins at the boondocker building, neighboring the Marine Corps Exchange Annex parking lot.

Teams will negotiate a course laden with obstacles that will force competitors to crawl through mud and swing from ropes.
