Hawaii Public Radio offers workshops for choral singers

Choral singers who want to polish their vocal skills for Hawaii Public Radio's Art Song Contest this spring may attend workshops from 1 to 4 p.m. March 10 and 24 for training tips.

March 10 workshops will feature Vicki Gorman leading a class on solo technique for choral singers from 1 to 2 p.m.; language work in English, French, German and Italian from 2 to 3 p.m.; and individual work with piano coaches Beebe Freitas, Thomas Yee, Edward Shipwright, Eric Schank and Gorman from 3 to 4 p.m.

March 24 workshops include a solo song interpretation class with Leon Williams from 1 to 2 p.m.; individual work with voice teachers Neva Rego, Betty Grierson, Sarah Markovits, Marilyn Kim, Georgine Stark, Larry Patton and Williams from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and a class in stage deportment with Williams from 3:30 to 4 p.m.
