Kailua resident finalist in contest

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Writer

Kanoa Doblin, a Kailua resident and student at Honolulu Waldorf School in Kahala, is among the final three candidates in an online contest for music to accompany national Sprite ads featuring basketball star LeBron James.

"I am so happy I've made it this far," said Doblin, who was one of 6,000 who submitted entries when the campaign was launched in January. The field was whittled down by public vote. "It's real exciting. I told my mom my song is going to win it all — and I might actually win it."

To hear Doblin's creation and see a video, go to www.lebron23-23.com; his is the middle entry under his DJ name, ETERNALLYBALLN. You can also cast a vote.
