Rep. Gene Ward, R-17th (Hawai'i Kai, Kalama Valley), has organized a walking tour of the Maunalua Bay area, following a community meeting this month that raised issues of ramp overuse, insufficient parking and lack of upkeep.

The tour is at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Maunalua Bay boat ramp. It is designed to help officials see the problems and map out solutions, Ward said.

Officials from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, city Department of Parks and Recreation, Hawaii Kai Boat Club and Hui Nalu Canoe Club will be on hand, as will city Councilman Charles Djou's legislative aide.
