The Koloa Bypass Road will be resurfaced starting tomorrow, with traffic limited to one-way while actual work is being performed.

Crews will work this weekend, and thereafter from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

The project is expected to continue through June, and the county urges drivers to use alternate routes during work hours.

Niu Construction, which has a $2.1 million contract for the work, will use a technique called full-depth reclamation, in which the existing road pavement is ground up and compacted in place, with a surface of new asphalt concrete.
