Rainbow Wahine defeat UC Santa Barbara in water polo

Sophomore Kelly Mason scored five goals to lead fourth-ranked Hawai'i to a 9-7 victory over No. 12 UC Santa Barbara in the opening round of the UC Irvine Invitational today at Anteater Aquatics Complex in Irvine, Calif.The Rainbow Wahine face No. 5 California in the quarterfinals this afternoon.
Lisa van Raalte scored three goals and Kristin Swanson had one. UH goalie Meike De Nooy had 13 saves.
