Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i center Samson Satele had the best vertical jump of the offensive lineman in his group during today's NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

The 6-foot-2, 298-pound Satele, considered one of the top center prospects in April's NFL draft, had a vertical of 33½. Earlier, he benched-pressed 225 pounds 25 times. He did not finish among the top 10 in the 40-yard dash in his group, which included the draft's top offensive lineman, Joe Thomas, a tackle from Wisconsin, and USC's Ryan Kalil, considered the No. 1 center in draft. The 10th fastest 40-time in Satele's group was 5.19.

The 6-2, 292-pound Kalil ran the 40 in 4.96, had 34 reps in the 225-pound bench, and broad jumped 8 feet, 8 inches.

The 6-foot-6½, 313-pound Thomas was impressive, running the 40 in 4.92, bench-pressing 225 pounds, 33 times, and recording the top broad jump at 9 feet, 2 inches.

Other Hawai'i athletes, Enoka Lucas of Kamehameha and Oregon, had 34 reps and an 8-feet, 8-inch broad jump. Palauni Ma Sun of Kahuku and Oregon had 22.
