Kona police are asking for the public's help to find the culprits of nine misdemeanor assaults at Ho'okena Beach Park on Jan. 27.Police said nine people were assaulted in separate incidents at the beach between 7:32 and 8:37 p.m. Police did not release the extent of their injuries, but called the violence "random" and unprovoked.
"We take this incident very seriously," said police Captain Paul Kealoha, the Kona district commander. "Random crimes of this nature are isolated, and we intend to keep it that way."
