Turtle Bay's Carll captures Hilo Invitational golf

Kevin Carll, Turtle Bay Resort's head professional, shot a 6-under-par 65 today to capture the 10th Hilo Invitational at Hilo Municipal.Carll had a 36-hole total of 6-under 136 to win by a stroke over 16-year-old amateur Pono Calip and pro Joe Phengsavath.
Calip shot 70—137 and Phengsavath shot 69—137. Pro Jerry Mullen (71—138) placed fourth followed by pro David Gerken (71—139) and pro Jacob Low (67—140). Defending champion Jarett Hamamoto finished in a tie for seventh with 73—141.
