Man arrested in kidnap, abuse case

A 21-year-old man with no permanent local address was arrested today for investigation of kidnapping and abuse of a household member.A 24-year-old woman told police she was held against her will by the man, who is her boyfriend, from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to about 10 a.m. today, first at the home of the man's grandparent and later in her car. The woman said she jumped from the car in Waikele today to escape.
The man was arrested at 10:45 a.m. on Paiwa Street. Charges are pending.
He also was being held on a $975 traffic warrant.
