Bicyclist seriously injured by SUV on Kaua'i

A Kaua'i bicyclist was seriously injured when she was hit by a SUV in Hanama'ulu this morning.Lily Morinaka, address unknown, was heading south on the northbound shoulder along Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of King Kaumuali'i Elementary School at around 10 am. When she attempted to cross the highway on her bicycle, she was broadsided by a northbound Ford SUV, police said.
Morinaka sustained serious injuries and was taken to Wilcox Hospital.
Two men in the truck were not injured.
According to police, alcohol, drugs and speed were not factors.
