Pro Bowl visitor spending drops to $28.03 million

The amount of money spent by visitors who traveled here to attend the Pro Bowl fell for the second straight year, the Hawaii Tourism Authority reported.Direct spending by visitors totaled $28.03 million this year, down from $33.26 million last year and $39.45 million in 2005, according to the HTA.
The report also showed that 20,608 visitors came specifically to attend the game, down slightly from 20,650 last year. This year's all-star game drew 50,410 spectators. Visitor spending generated $2.72 million in state taxes, according to the study.
