50 cent whale-watching cruise offered to kama'aina

Star of Honolulu Cruises & Events said today it will offer a two-hour whale-watching cruise to kama'aina and military personnel for 50 cents to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary.

The cruise will take place at 8 a.m. March 11. The ship can hold 1,500 people, and reservations will be made on a first come, first serve basis.

Advance reservations are required at 983-STAR (7827), with a maximum of six persons per booking. Cruise-goers must present a valid Hawai'i ID and cash payment upon check-in.

The two-hour cruise aboard the award-winning Star of Honolulu will offer coastline views and the opportunity to spot humpback whales, spinner dolphins and other marine life. Hawaiian music and light refreshments will also be provided.

The Star of Honolulu departs from Aloha Tower Marketplace, Pier 8.
