Panel to ponder Hawai'i's economic future

Rep. Lyla Berg, D-18th (Kuli'ou'ou, Niu Valley, 'Aina Haina) will host an expert panel to discuss Hawai'i's economic future at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kahala Elementary School.

The panel will include Rep. Glenn Wakai, D-31st (Moanalua Valley, Moanalua, Salt Lake); Carl Bonham, executive director of the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Economic Research Organization; and Chris Grandy, tax review commissioner.

Topics will include Hawai'i's labor productivity growth compared to the Mainland, diversification, tax credits and current legislative initiatives aimed at improving the state's economy.
