Oklahoma back Peterson shines at NFL Combine

Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson, the top running back prospect in April's NFL draft, was at the top of the charts in three categories after Sunday's NFL Combine in Indianapolis.The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.4, had a vertical leap of 38 1/2 and a broad jump of 10 feet, 7 inches, according to Day 4 results posted on nfl.com.
He tied for the fastest 40 time and best broad jump in his group, which included Hawaii's Nate Ilaoa, California's Marshawn Lynch, Ohio State's Antonio Pittman, Notre Dame's Darius Walker, and Florida State's Lorenzo Booker.
Peterson tied Arizona's Chris Henry and Pittman for the fastest 40 in his group, and tied Henry in the broad jump.
Peterson's vertical was second to Walker's 40 1/2.
The Sooner junior was not listed among the top five in the 60-yard shuttle or in the top 10 in the three-cone drill.
Ilaoa was fourth in the shuttle 11.78, beating Lynch at 11.80. Lynch is considered the No. 2 running back prospect behind Peterson. Auburn's Kenny Irons was first at 11.47.
