Area lawmakers to tour Kalihi Valley Homes

Two lawmakers will tour Kalihi Valley Homes tomorrow to inspect the progress of a long-stalled renovation project.State Sen. Donna Mercado Kim and Rep. John Mizuno, who represent Kalihi Valley, say the renovation project has suffered from mismanagement and poor planning.
Work began in 1999 to renovate Kalihi Valley Homes, one of the largest public housing complexes in the state.
The lawmakers will tour newly renovated homes along with older homes destined for demolition.
